Alyson O'Connor
“I graduated ten years ago with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I worked for a local Seventh-day Adventist school teaching third grade. During the summers, I took classes towards my Master of Curriculum and Instruction, Reading Emphasis. I loved every minute of my on-campus and online courses. The professors did a wonderful job reaching out to me to ensure that I understood all the material. To complete my degree, I continued to take classes during the school year online while teaching and being a full-time parent of two. I took two classes during the spring semester of 2020. Covid-19 brought about challenges that the University had never faced. Professors had to create online lessons for all classes. Through all of it, I feel like I received the education I was anticipating receiving prior to a global pandemic! Dr. Cheryl The was a fantastic advisor all along the way. I am proud to be a SWAU alumna, twice!"
