Transfer Student Program

Welcome to SWAU!

We know how difficult it can be to switch schools, especially if it is in the Spring. For this reason, we have a program for you that is designed to make this transition a bit easier. Here are some of the resources we provide for you:

• Orientation – Before each semester, we have a required orientation designed to give you a quick overview of the campus and resources available and give you a chance to meet a few key people. The Fall orientation will start a few days prior to the first day of classes, and the Spring orientation will be a shorter version beginning the day before. 
• Peer Mentors – We provide you with peers who have been here on campus and can help you navigate your first year. They are also available to help you with time management, study skills, etc., and simply be a support to you on a regular basis.                   
• First Year Experience course/Learning Communities – This simple once-per-week course not only reinforces some of your college management skills but also gives you an opportunity to explore your career on a deeper level and get acquainted with other students.
• Texas Core agreements – If you are transferring from another accredited Texas university, you can rest easily knowing all your general credits will transfer.
