Thinking about medical or dental school?

The majority of students who attend medical or dental school are science majors. All medical and dental schools have pre-requisite courses that applicants must complete before entering the program. Strong candidates demonstrate competence in their basic science courses and prerequisites and also challenge themselves with advanced courses and rigorous course loads.

Medical and dental schools do not prefer one major over another as long as all prerequisites are met. At SWAU, most pre-med and pre-dentistry students are biology, biochemistry, or medical laboratory science majors, although some choose to major in another field, such as business or music.
