The Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) Department of Nursing has always been dedicated to making sure every student desiring to become a nurse has the opportunity and resources to pursue an education. We are taking the next step in that journey by offering a Master of Science in Nursing program aimed at offering an enriching, practical, and life-changing experience for postbaccalaureate nurses who wish to become Nurse Educators. To help us in this goal, we have created the “Pinterich-Durrant Nursing Education Endowment Fund”.
This endowment will begin at $25,000 and have a match for the first $25,000. This endowment honors Dr. Laurice Durrant and the late Shirley Pinterich, pioneers of the nursing education community here at SWAU. This endowment will allow future candidates to follow in their footsteps, preparing the next generation of nurse educators to help create better nursing students for our hospitals, medical facilities, and communities.
To qualify to receive funds from this endowment, candidates will need to:
• Be enrolled in a SWAU Nursing Program
• Display a commitment to excellence in nursing practice & education
