John and Remy Cabansag strongly believe that Christian education will provide the best training for children, establish the foundation to serve God and others, and continue the ministry Jesus left to prepare others for His soon coming. Both the Cabansags were educated in Christian schools and are deeply thankful to God for that influence in their lives. They have two children, Roger and James, who were educated in Church schools from kindergarten through graduate school, and both are graduates of Southwestern Adventist University.

John and Remy emigrated from the Philippines to the United States to finish their medical education. They met at church and got married in New York City. After finishing their residencies in 1972, they moved to Texas to practice medicine in central and west Texas, John in internal medicine and Remy in obstetrics and gynecology.

John and Remy feel very much blessed by Christian education and consider it their privilege to establish this scholarship to share what God has blessed them with to help students.

Scholarship award requirements

This scholarship is awarded to students in the fields of biology (pre-med) and accounting who show financial need and have demonstrated academic excellence.
