Dr. Nathan L. Beebe was born in Wisconsin but made his home in Colorado. He graduated from the College of Medical Evangelists on May 26, 1921. He married Agnes Wanek, a childhood friend, in 1922. That same year he began practicing medicine in Boulder, Colorado. After six years on the medical staff at the Boulder Sanitarium, he moved his practice to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he lived until his death in December, 1982.

Dr. Beebe practiced alone in Fort Collins for the first 30 years and built the Beebe Clinic in 1937. He paid $4,600 for a 100-foot by 190-foot lot and $15,000 to have the building constructed. Medical practice at the clinic continued until 1988 when his partners retired.

Both Dr. and Mrs. Beebe were strong believers in Christian education. Through the years they donated money and sponsored many students in Adventist institutions across America. The Seventh-day Adventist school in Fort Collins was named for him in 1980, the same year he retired.

All of the Beebes' grandchildren attended Adventist institutions. Five of them attended Southwestern Adventist University, and four are Southwestern graduates. The Beebes' daughter, Evelyn Beebe Korgan, and her husband, Julius Korgan, moved to Keene in 1967. They taught at the college until 1976, when they moved to Nigeria. Southwestern holds a special place in the hearts of the family.
