Sheree Parris Nudd has spent much of her professional career as an administrator of a rehabilitation center and as a chief development officer at hospitals such as Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South in Texas, Porter Adventist Hospital in Colorado, and Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center in Maryland. In 1979, she became the first woman to be named the director of development of a major Seventh-day Adventist institution. Sheree has earned the highest level of accreditation, Fellow, in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. Sheree was named "Trailblazer in Philanthropy" by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and "Alumna of the Year" by Southwestern. She was the Alumni Association's first annual fund chair.
Sheree has served as a guest faculty member of The Fund Raising School, and she taught the first course on development at Southwestern. She is the founder of DesignsforGiving.com, which produces a series of quotation collections beginning with the title, "Living a Life of Significance." She and her husband, Evan C. Nudd ('79), have two daughters, Lauren and Jaime.
In keeping with Sheree's proclivity for "firsts," this is the first such scholarship fund designated for communication and development students. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has "star" quality. Sheree loves to hear from the scholarship winners from time to time, to celebrate their successes.
