The Enactus team from Southwestern Adventist University achieved a remarkable feat by securing first place in the Early Stage League competition at the 2024 Enactus USA Expo. This prestigious event, held annually, serves as a platform for student entrepreneurs nationwide to showcase innovative projects driving positive social change through entrepreneurial action.
Over three days of intense competition held recently, students from universities across the United States presented a wide array of community and business projects. Each project aimed to address pressing societal issues and create sustainable solutions through entrepreneurial initiatives.
The Enactus team from SWAU made a significant impact with their hydroponic project, 'Little Leaf.' Their initiative is to assist people in food deserts by providing an affordable two-week curriculum that teaches how to grow microgreens at home. Little Leaf not only impressed the judges but also highlighted the team's dedication to creating a meaningful impact in their community.
Licci Zemleduch, Business Professor and Enactus Program Director, expressed her pride in her team's achievement. "Our team is honored to have been recognized for our efforts in creating innovative and sustainable solutions for food insecurity," she remarked. "This win motivates us to continue innovating and expanding our impact."
The Enactus USA Expo not only celebrates entrepreneurial excellence but also fosters collaboration, learning, and innovation among young leaders. It serves as a testament to the power of entrepreneurship in driving meaningful change and shaping a better future for communities worldwide.
The university community extends its congratulations to the Enactus team for their outstanding achievement and looks forward to supporting their continued success on the global stage.
