On May 11, 2024, the West Houston Seventh-day Adventist Church warmly welcomed Southwestern Adventist University for the second installment of "The Renewal Tour." This event, designed to celebrate the transformative power of Christian education, drew a diverse crowd of young people and families eager to hear President Ana Patterson and keynote speaker Pastor Jose Rojas deliver messages of spiritual encouragement and educational empowerment.
In the morning leading up to the event, SWAU's Enrollment team collaborated with three local churches, providing sermons and setting up informational booths to engage with the community. These efforts aimed to raise awareness about SWAU and created opportunities for the enrollment team to share their passion for Christian education with the members.
President Ana Patterson set the tone for the evening, emphasizing SWAU's mission to nurture both academic excellence and spiritual growth. She passionately stressed the university's dedication to developing future leaders who are deeply rooted in faith and committed to serving others.
Pastor Jose Rojas, known for his inspirational sermons, delivered a sobering message to parents about the critical role they play in nurturing the next generation of church leaders. Drawing from biblical teachings and personal anecdotes, Pastor Rojas urged attendees to prioritize their children's spiritual and educational development, stressing the importance of institutions like SWAU in shaping young minds and hearts.
The event resonated deeply with attendees, who found solace and inspiration in Pastor Rojas's words and President Patterson's vision for SWAU's future. Families left the event encouraged to invest in Christian education and to support institutions that uphold values of faith, knowledge, and service.
Reflecting on the evening, one attendee shared, "The Renewal Tour at West Houston SDA was a powerful reminder of the importance of raising our children in an environment that values faith and education. Pastor Rojas's message was poignant and timely, challenging us to be intentional in nurturing our children's spiritual growth."
