Southwestern Adventist University recently received a generous $1 million gift from AdventHealth. The gift will provide $500,000 in additional funding for both the AdventHealth Endowed Chair of Nursing and the AdventHealth Endowed Chair of Business Administration. AdventHealth is dedicated to supporting higher education that develops servant leaders. To date, the company has provided $6 million in gifts designated for the endowed chair positions.
Dr. Kerrie Kimbrow, AdventHealth Endowed Chair of Nursing, recognizes that this gift further showcases AdventHealth’s commitment of going the extra mile to prepare young healthcare leaders. The additional funding further cements an already strong relationship. This is not only shown through previous financial support to her department, but also through the externships and career opportunities afforded to many of the university’s graduates.
“Early in my career, I worked for AdventHealth and am very grateful for what they have done for me personally and professionally,” shares Kimbrow. “I am proud to work for an institution that is supported by this network and excited to continue in my role as an ambassador for AdventHealth to our students and alumni.”
The Department of Business Administration also enjoys a strong relationship with AdventHealth that includes participation in their Leadership Development program. The department hosts AdventHealth recruiters once a year to interview candidates for internship and residency positions in a variety of areas in healthcare administration. The goal of this continued partnership is to encourage engagement and provide career opportunities for future leaders.
“We are extremely grateful for the additional funds that AdventHealth has provided our department,” shares Dr. Aaron Moses, AdventHealth Endowed Chair of Business Administration. “This gift will allow us to further student success initiatives in the coming years.”
