Southwestern Adventist University is happy to share that the Ardmore Institute of Health, based in Oklahoma, has generously donated Nathan Greene’s painting “Living Waters” to the University. In 2016, the Ardmore Institute of Health Board provided the painting to the University on a loan.
When the painting was originally unveiled in 2016, it hung in Pechero Hall. Upon completion of the Larry R. Moore Nursing and Administration Building, the University relocated the painting to the new building where a custom frame for the painting was crafted in the upper lobby of the building’s grand rotunda.
Ardmore Institute of Health President and CEO, Dr. Ron Stout, shared, “Once we saw that the University had built a prominent location for the painting and then experienced its beauty within a building where faculty emphasize healthful living and provide healthcare education, we knew it was only right to donate the painting to the University. We are so proud of what the University is doing to promote healthy lifestyles.”
“We are so pleased to accept this beautiful gift,” stated President Ken Shaw, “Living Waters represents healthy living, the main theme of our quality enhancement plan and a key emphasis within our nursing program. It is such an appropriate and beautiful piece of art befitting of our new nursing building.”

About Living Waters
The painting represents the healing, life-giving “water” Jesus Christ offers us as He seeks to provide us with the tools for spiritual, mental, and physical health. This is the perfect theme to grace the halls of Southwestern Adventist University’s new building, a building that will be dedicated to training nurses within a Christ-centered learning environment.
