Southwestern Adventist University is hosting another community needs forums for the Johnson County area, as a follow up to the needs assessment survey conducted over the summer. The goal of the survey was to identify and address the health needs of the community through building a community resource, establishing community partnerships, and suggesting health programs and initiatives. Members of the community are invited to attend the forums to discuss the results of the survey and how to address them. The funding for the project is through a generous grant from the Ardmore Institute of Health.
The forum will be held at the Booker T. Washington Community and Recreation Center in Cleburne, Texas on September 21 from 6:00-7:00pm. This forum is an opportunity for the community to meet with fellow neighbors, ask questions about community health needs, and voice ideas. Participants in the event will help shape a larger initiative for wellness in the Johnson County area.
Door prizes include a Fitbit and gift certificates to Pastafina, La Fiesta, Starbucks, Panda Express, and Grumps Burger. Refreshments will be provided.
The first forum was held on Southwestern Adventist University’s campus on August 18 from 6:30pm-8:00pm. a chance to participate in an event that will help shape a larger initiative for wellness in the Johnson County area.
The community needs assessment survey and forums are a part of Southwestern Adventist University’s Quality Enhancement Plan, “Whole-Person Wellness,” which is designed to strengthen the University’s commitment to enhance healthy lifestyles among students and the community.
