SWAU South by Southwestern Film Festival Offered Online

If you are a high school student who makes movies check out the Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) South by Southwestern Film Festival offered through the communication department this spring. The online film festival is available to all high school students, you can enter as an organization or individual, and the deadline is March 1, 2022.
“We are super excited to continue the South by Southwestern Film Festival,” says Brett Hadley, chair of the communication department at SWAU. “Offering the film festival online opens up who can participate, and we look forward to the awards ceremony to celebrate these films.”
To enter the film festival, make a movie with one of the following genre’s: drama, comedy, documentary, stop motion, social issue spotlight, or music video. The production categories include storyboards, production poster, and behind the scenes. The length of the film must be three to five minutes to qualify. The clock begins with the opening credits and goes unto the final credits roll.
Note that all films must be shot with a mobile phone camera, any brand qualifies. Other production equipment is allowed, including drones. The entire length of the film must not be more than ten percent aerial or video footage from a done. No apps or filmmaking accessories are required
