B.S. Biology, Integrative Biology

A B.S. Biology, Integrative Biology Emphasis gives students the freedom to study a wide range of biological subdisciplines. The B.S. Biology, Integrative Biology emphasis is well suited for students pursuing a job or graduate school opportunities outside of the traditional medical and ecological science fields.

Career Field
Students interested in focusing on biology in graduate school or pursuing a career in a specific aspect of organismal biology, resource management, laboratory technician or a high school science teacher (followed by a post-secondary teaching certificate) will find this emphasis to be a noteworthy option.

Job Outlook
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for biological technicians will increase by 5% between 2019-2029. That’s an additional 4,300 jobs.

Careers

Biological technicians help biological or medical scientists conduct laboratory tests and experiments. “[They] typically need a bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related field. It is important for prospective biological technicians to gain laboratory experience while in school.” (BLS)
