Biology Minors

Are you looking for a biological science minor to compliment your major? Southwestern Adventist University’s Department of Biological Sciences offers two minors to add an element of biology to your career. 

 

Minor in Biology
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts major, but also want to pursue interests in biology, have the option to elect a minor in biology.

 

Minor in Biology, Life Science Secondary Teaching Certification
Some states allow high school teachers to teach in their minor area. A minor in Biology, Life Science Secondary Teaching Certification program prepares students to become high school biology teachers as a secondary teaching area and is offered in conjunction with the Department of Education.

Careers

With a biological science minor, students will be prepared for a variety of interdisciplinary jobs involving aspects of biology, such as nutrition, science writing and editing, resource management, environmental compliance and enforcement and organic agriculture.
