Office of the Registrar

The University is accepting applicants for the role of Director, Office of the Registrar. 

The Director will be responsible for the overall operational activities of the Records Office. These activities include ensuring the integrity, security and privacy of all academic records, graduation certification, production of diplomas and transcripts, enrollment verifications, degree verifications, FERPA-related issues, withdrawal process, transcript requests, and grading.  The Director should possess sound knowledge of veterans’ affairs and international student advising, to include the F1 student Visa process.

Additional requirements for role include -

  • Master’s degree required in related field
  • Previous experience in a records or registrar’s office
  • Familiarity with college organizational structure, curriculum, degree requirements, and grading system
  • Knowledge of Veterans Educational Assistance programs helpful

Office of Spiritual Development

The Office of Spiritual Development (SLAD) is accepting applications for the full-time role of Chaplain.  The Chaplin will be responsible for assisting the Vice President for Spiritual Development in creating an environment that is conducive to the spiritual growth of students and employees. The individual in this position should be a person of high integrity, well respected by both students and employees.  Ideally, the person in this position should be a positive Christian influence, organized, and be able to empower students to lead ministries on campus and in the community.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church in good and regular standing, and have a desire to serve in a cooperative, spiritually redemptive, and soul-winning atmosphere.

In addition, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in theology or religion. A Master’s of Divinity is preferred; Endorsed Seventh-day Adventist Chaplain certification is highly desired.

Candidates should reside in, and be authorized to work in the US.

Candidates with previous Pastoral and/or chaplain experience will be given preference.

Department of Nursing

The Department of Nursing is accepting applications for an Office Manager/Clinical Coordinator.  This full-time role will support the Nursing Department faculty as well as current Nursing students as they move through the Nursing Program from acceptance to graduation and then to the successful completion of the Texas NCLEX.

Candidates should possess a four-year degree at a minimum; candidates with experience in higher education and/or experience in the Nursing field will be given preference.

Vice President for Financial Administration

The Vice President for Financial Administration is the Chief Financial Officer for the University and is responsible for all Financial aspects of the University.  This role will oversee multiple departments and partner with their peers as they work together to create and execute the strategic goals and objectives of the University under the direct leadership of the President and the Board of Directors. 

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and a CPA are a mandatory requirement for this role. They should also have a minimum of five to seven years' relevant experience and demonstrated success in a senior level financial leadership position.

Office for University Advancement

The Office for University Advancement is accepting applicants for the following full-time role -

Director of Donor Relations & Annual Giving

The Director of Donor Relations & Annual Giving manages all areas related to gifts, pledge processing, and donor recognition.

This role manages the University’s Donor Program and ensures all gifts are allocated according to internal standard work and processes.  The planning and execution of donor recognition strategies is an imperative aspect of this role to create meaningful contact with donors and volunteers to keep the University Donor base up-to-date on campus life as well as to build meaningful relationships. 

The management of the University’s Annual Giving program is another main focus for this role.  The objective is to help enhance the understanding and support for the Southwestern Fund by planning and executing various campaigns, events, and projects throughout the academic year.

Candidates should possess a four-year degree, have experience in managing Gifts, and have a sound understanding of financial reports/budgeting to efficiently operate programs within the financial resources allocated to the function.  Preferred qualifications include experience in managing annual funds and proficiency in database management and MS Office suite.  Candidates who also possess experience in Raisers Edge or other donor management software may be given preference.

Campus Safety

The Campus Safety Team is seeking a candidate for the part-time role of Patrol Officer.  This role is responsible for the nightly patrolling of the campus.  Other responsibilities include providing for the safety of the campus by responding to emergencies, requests for assistance, and the physical security of buildings and property.  

Candidates should -

  • Be available to work nights and weekends;
  • Be available for on-call responses to emergencies involving fire, occupational safety, environmental safety, or emergency management;
  • Be at least 21 years of age;
  • Have prior related experience;

Biological Sciences

Applied Ecologist

The Department of Biological Sciences is seeking an Applied Ecologist to teach courses that contribute to the biological sciences curriculum for the Ecology and Conservation Emphasis. The successful candidate will teach courses in GIS, Environmental Science, and Soil Science, as well as develop courses in his or her specialty, perhaps but not limited to ecological modeling and landscape ecology or management.  The ability to teach environmental law and policy would be an asset.  The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop a research program that includes undergraduate students.   

Qualified candidates would work to support transfer students and students considered at-risk. Applicants who are bilingual and hold a Ph.D. in a suitable area of Biological Sciences will be given preference. This position will begin on July 1.

Office for Enrollment

The University's Office for Enrollment is currently seeking a full-time Enrollment Counselor.  This individual will be an active member of the Office of Enrollment and manages an assigned recruitment territory.  Through articulating the University’s mission and vision, they are able to communicate the culture of campus life to prospective students.  He or she will be responsible for ensuring that assigned recruiting goals are met by using the available tools and moving through the University's recruitment process.

Pathways to Success

The Pathways to Success Team is accepting applicants for the following role - 

Part-Time Admin. Assistant

Under supervision, this position provides administrative support for the Pathways to Success Office. In addition to filing and scheduling, he or she will be expected to perform duties such as record keeping, coordination of meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies, and working on special projects.

This role deals with a diverse group of external visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize the workload.

Requirements for the role - 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • One to three years relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability in managing multiple projects and timelines
