Kenneth Edward Simpson

Kenneth Edward Simpson was born in Mercedes, Texas on November 14, 1948 to his proud parents Edward "Buster" Simpson and Lillian Simpson. He was the first of three children and lived the majority of the first 18 years of his life with his family on a farm in Santa Maria, Texas.

Ken attended Valley Grande Elementary and Academy, graduating in 1967. He graduated from Southwestern Union College (now Southwestern Adventist University) with a Bachelor of Theology degree in August 1971 and from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary with his Master of Divinity Degree in December 1973.

Ken was employed by the Arkansas-Louisiana Conference of Seventh-day Adventists his entire career. He was a Seventh-day Adventist Pastor for the first 28 years of his career. He finished the last 16 years of his career by serving in the Trust Services and Planned Giving Department of the conference.

After his retirement on October 1, 2016, Ken sang with the Shreveport First Church Worship Team and spent time arranging the team music to provide the best harmony. He also taught an adult Sabbath School class. Unfortunately much of his retirement was spent fighting his Mantle Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Ken passed to his rest on September 11, 2018 in his home in Keithville, Louisiana.
