KNIGHTS BASKETBALL TEAM INVITED TO CHRISTIAN TOURNAMENT

Southwestern Adventist University Knights men’s basketball team is headed to post season play.  The Knights have accepted an invitation to play in Oakland City, Indiana for the Christian College National Invitational Tournament.  The tournament consists of eight teams coming from Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Montana, Ohio, Oklahoma, the host school, Oakland City University, and Texas.  The tournament will kick off with a banquet held on the campus of Oakland City University on Wednesday evening, March 8. 

“This is an exciting way to culminate the season,” says Vice President of Student Services James The. “This will help us gauge our program’s growth. It gives us an opportunity to cultivate relationships with colleges and universities similar to ours.”

The tournament will be a bracket format consisting of championship and consolation sides, a guaranteed three games for each team. The Knights will open up tournament play against the Morthland College Patriots, the defending CCNIT champions. 

The SWAU Knights Facebook page will live-stream as much as possible. The first game begins 3:00pm CST on March 9. The Oakland City University will have DVDs for purchase following the tournament.
