Showcase Concert Superb Start to Music Festival

By:

Southwestern Adventist University's 55th annual Music Festival has officially begun with Wednesday night's Showcase Concert, featuring 15 scholarship finalists. These finalists, plus several hundred additional musicians, will perform Sunday night at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.

The largest music festival in the North American Division, the festival participants from high schools all over the United States will practice all day Thursday and Friday, plus Saturday evening and Sunday morning, in preparation for the culminating concert, A Night at the Meyerson. This is the 25th anniversary of the finale concert.

This landmark event will also feature the world premiere of Kim André Arnesen's newest choral composition, plus feature soloists Dallas Symphony Orchestra principal harpist Emily Levin and Oklahoma State University Professor of Saxophone and h2 quartet founder Dr. Jeffrey Loeffert. Proceeds from the event will go towards the student music experience at Southwestern Adventist University.

Visit swau.edu/musicfestival for the weekend schedule or to purchase tickets for the Meyerson Symphony Center concert. Online ticket sales end Sunday at noon. Tickets bought online will be available at Will Call at the Meyerson box office, which will open at 6:00pm on Sunday, February 11.

If you are unable to join us on campus this weekend for our vespers and church services, please join us in spirit by watching our live-streaming via our Facebook or Youtube channel
