Pre-Nursing at Southwestern Adventist University = Guaranteed Admission into Nursing
Pre-Nursing at Southwestern Adventist University = Guaranteed Admission into Nursing
Southwestern Adventist University now offers guaranteed nursing program admission to individuals who follow 5 simple steps. This eliminates the uncertainty that many freshman and sophomore nursing students experience.
In order to qualify for guaranteed admission into nursing, students need to:
- Enroll as a full-time freshman
- Declare nursing as a major
- Successfully complete all nursing pre-requisite courses
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Achieve proficient level or above on the TEAS nursing admission test
“Acceptance into a nursing program is very competitive,” shared Dr. Kerrie Kimbrow, Advent Health Endowed Chair of the Department of Nursing. Nursing majors usually begin nursing courses in the second semester of their sophomore year. “Students are often anxious during the first year and a half, not knowing if they will be accepted into a nursing program after working hard to complete their prerequisites. At Southwestern Adventist University, we want our pre-nursing students to be assured of a place in our program. They can then focus on success.”
