Young Alumni to Speak at Week of Prayer

Southwestern Adventist University is excited to hold its annual Spring Week of Prayer on February 1-5, 2021. This semester’s IGNITE Week of Prayer focuses on increasing our knowledge of God, deepening our faith in Him and applying our faith in service. SWAU proudly welcomes home three alumni from the class of 2019, Eliab Quiniones (El Paso, Texas), Josh Ramirez (Clovis, New Mexico) and Samson Sembeba (Tulsa, Oklahoma), as speakers for the week.

Quiniones, Ramirez and Sembeba are all currently serving as pastors in the Southwestern Union of Seventh-day Adventists. As close friends, these three young men grew together during their time as SWAU students. Serving as campus leaders prepared each of them for many aspects of life in ministry.

Following graduation, each was blessed with a call to pastoral ministry and over the past year and a half, they have met the challenge of finding innovative ways to share the Gospel, even during a pandemic. They look forward to returning to the place they once called home and sharing their story with the next generation of the SWAU family.

As Quiniones, Ramirez and Sembeba prepare their talks, they are reminded that God will never give up but continues to pursue His children. “We are praying that Christ will be lifted up,” shares Sembeba, "It’s our hope that our messages share promises from the Bible that gives us no choice but to pursue Christ as He pursues us.” Our campus looks forward to worshiping together and enjoying a week of purposeful focus on the pursuit of Christ.

Week of Prayer runs daily at 11:20 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 1:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday. To join IGNITE Week of Prayer LIVE online, visit swau.edu/live.
