"Yardsticks Growing up in a Web-Free World" by Jerry L Potter
Given the title "Grandpa" in June 2006.
Jerry L Potter was raised in a non-Christian home. He served four years in the US Navy and then worked various jobs in California and Idaho. In moving back to California for construction work in 1973, the Lord used some former backslidden Adventists to witness to him and his wife. In time, those seeds of "truth" spouted, grew, blossomed, and bore fruit. Him and his wife, Sharon were baptized on November 2, 1974 into the Adventist Church. He worked for almost fifteen years in the Literature Evangelist work, three years as a door-to-door Bible book salesman, over three years as an Associate Publishing Director in Hawaii and almost nine years as Publishing Director for the Thailand Adventist Mission. When his budget was cut, he took ten months study leave from the G.C. and came to Keene in 1990 to finish up his BS Degree at Southwestern. He worked in the Building Maintenance Department while studying at SAC. When a position opened up in Student Finance, he was hired to fill the spot around 1996. He has three children, Chris, Elena and Joe, and one granddaughter, Emma. He enjoys photography and writing stories.
