Born in Jay, Oklahoma, Dr. Frantzen is the daughter of an SDA teacher/pastor. She spent her early years growing up along the West Coast, living in California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, among other places. After attaining her BA Psychology, from Walla Walla College, she spent the next 7 years as a stay-at-home mother, before returning to school to achieve her MA Counseling and PhD Psychology. Dr. Frantzen has over 12 years working in the mental health field, including working for organizations/programs, prisons, and private practice. She spends extensive time speaking at churches and for various organization on issues of sexual health, and has been a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider in Texas for many years.
Dr. Frantzen has been married for over 20 years to her Norwegian husband, whom she supports in his ministry as an SDA pastor. She loves being a mother of 3 girls and a boy. She likes to travel and does speak and write Norwegian fluently. Dr. Frantzen also enjoys gardening and yard work, reading, writing, exploring, and organizing events.
