Southwestern Adventist University’s Department of Theology will welcome theologians, and university students to Southwestern Adventist University’s campus in Keene, Texas on February 21-23, 2019. The university is partnering with the Adventist Theological Society to host a Trinity Conference on this date. The community is invited to come and hear from world renowned authors and professors over a weekend that will conclude with the establishment of a local Adventist Theology Society Chapter.

“This is a special opportunity to bring specialists from the world church to better our understanding of some of our pillar beliefs as Seventh-day Adventists,” shares Michael W. Campbell, Associate Professor at Southwestern Adventist University and Trinity Conference organizer.

The conference will feature lectures about the importance and history of the Trinity by the president of Middle East University, Dr. Larry Lichtenwalter; Andrews University Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary dean, Dr. Jiří Moskala; Adventist Theological Society president, Dr. John W. Reeve; and doctoral student and pastor, Matthew L. Tinkham Jr.

“The understanding of God in three Persons is one of the most difficult beliefs in Christianity. Some may confess they don’t understand it, while others may think they do. This Trinity Conference is coming to fill a gap in our understanding of our Creator,” shares Dr. Joaquim Azevedo, chair of the Religion Department at Southwestern Adventist University.

Beginning with an opening presentation on Thursday at the weekly 1 PM Assembly, the conference will feature 8 presentations and will conclude with a panel discussion by the presenters and Southwestern Adventist University’s Religion professors on Saturday at 5 PM. All presentations are at the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church.
