Southwestern Adventist University will host the Keene Chamber of Commerce’s 16th annual Business Expo, Health Fair, and Job Fair at the Leiske-Pultar Gymnasium on Sunday, February 24, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is free and there will be a wide variety of activities and entertainment for all ages.

“This is a great day to get out of the house, enjoy some fun and uplifting entertainment, take a few moments to think about one’s health, and learn more about our great Keene community,” said Terri Gibson, nursing professor at Southwestern Adventist University.

The event will feature live entertainment and a food court. Attendees can watch the university’s Acrobatic Team at 10:30, EBB Dance at 11:30, Eden’s Echo Vocal group at 12:30, Southwestern Adventist University’s Department of Music at 1:00, and the Alpha Worship Group at 1:30.

Local businesses, health care providers, and non-profit organizations will provide activities, and giveaways at their booths.  Several medical professionals will provide free dental and hearing screenings, and a number of local restaurants and youth groups will provide a variety of lunch options for purchase.

Southwestern Adventist University’s Kinesiology department will provide fitness assessments and recommendations. The university’s Nursing Department will provide blood pressure checks, health age appraisals, glucose screenings, and BMI (body mass index) scores as well as a Kids’ Health Zone with fun activities for young attendees.

“The event has an amazing blend of people and organizations. Southwestern Adventist University is a charter member of the Keene chamber and this event would not be possible without the assistance of Southwestern Adventist University,” said Paul Gnadt, President of the Keene Chamber of Commerce. “The University has extended use of the Leiske-Pultar Gymnasium for the last 14 years, and the Department of Nursing is a major player in providing the health screenings and assessments.”
