Southwestern Adventist University will host a Wellness Counts Reversing Diabetes Program this fall. The program, which is hosted in collaboration with the Crowley Seventh-day Adventist Church, begins on September 16 and teaches participants about healthy lifestyle choices. Sponsored by the University’s Center for Wellness Integration, you are invited to a free no obligation information session on September 9 at the Crowley Adventist Church.

Event Details
The Wellness Counts Reversing Diabetes Program helps individuals gain practical tips for optimal living. Featuring coaching, presentations, and interactive discussions, participants will learn how to make positive choices that will influence and improve their health and outlook on life. While tips are guided to those living with diabetes, the program is beneficial for individuals of all ages and experiences.

“Program alumni share their delight in feeling better, losing weight, and decreasing their blood sugar levels.” Shares Dr. Terri Gibson, Director of the Center for Wellness Integration, “We can help you take charge of your health. There’s no better time to start than now. Please join us!”

During each of the eight sessions, program participants will receive a light healthy meal, participate in health screening activities (blood pressure, weight, etc.), and learn practical tips from various speakers and group leaders. Together they will work through The Full Plate Diet, a New York Times Best Seller textbook. Program participants will also benefit from a pre and post program lifestyle assessment as well as a finger-stick A1C screening.
