Southwestern Adventist University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dean Waterman as the Director of Development. Waterman brings experience in fundraising for church growth projects and a charisma and enthusiasm for helping Southwestern Adventist University succeed in providing an exceptional education experience. Waterman will work closely with Vice President for Advancement Tami Condon and President Ken Shaw in finishing the current phase of the building campaign and working to grow the University Annual Fund and Endowment Fund.

“What the University has accomplished in the past, coupled with the compelling vision of what it will do in the future, is what excites me most about joining the Advancement Team at Southwestern Adventist University,” shares Waterman.  “I look forward to helping others invest in the influence of our young people, which allows us all to make a difference beyond ourselves.”

Waterman attended Southern Adventist University before transitioning into pastoral ministry in 2003.  He is currently completing his MBA from Trinity Theological Seminary.  Waterman’s decade of business experience prior to pastoral ministry, as well as his experience developing and leading strategic plans, program growth initiatives, and fundraising in local church development, makes him a welcome addition to the Office of University Advancement team.

“I’m so pleased to welcome Dean to our campus,” says Condon. “He has already researched our campus and comes with a wealth of ideas. His energy and personability are exactly what our efforts need.”

Waterman will officially join the Southwestern Adventist University family on September 1, 2016.
