SOUTHWESTERN FACULTY RECEIVE AWARDS

Southwestern Adventist University is pleased to announce that two faculty members received awards at the annual Keene Chamber of Commerce on October 27, 2016. Ana Patterson, business department professor, was awarded the Community Service Award and Dr. Amy McHenry, biological sciences professor, was awarded the Faculty of the Year award.

The Community Service Award is given to an individual and/or organization who has given extensive and continued service to the community.  “Ana Patterson started numerous programs for community improvement such as entrepreneurship and money management programs for 5-8^th graders in Keene schools, helping small business owners, and empowering women with credit, lifestyle, and business issues,” says Paul Gnadt, Keene Chamber president, as he presented Patterson with her award.

Amy Rosenthal, vice president for academic admission at Southwestern Adventist University, presented the award for the Faculty of the Year. “At Southwestern Adventist University, every year the students nominate a teacher based on classroom teaching, the work with students inside and outside of the classroom, and the impact the faculty member has on the Southwestern community,” Rosenthal said. “So this year, it is my pleasure to announce Dr. Amy McHenry as our faculty of the year.”
