Southwestern Receives Major Gift from Pinnacle Bank

Southwestern Adventist University received a $100,000 gift designated to the University’s capital campaign from Pinnacle Bank. The gift is intended for the new nursing and administration building.

Pinnacle Bank first opened its doors in 1970 in the city of Keene, about 30 miles south of Fort Worth. The bank was welcomed as a neighbor and important part of the community.  Today, Pinnacle Bank in Texas serves Azle, Benbrook, Burleson, Cleburne, Fort Worth, Joshua, Keene and Springtown. Although they’ve grown, they still greet you by name and answer our calls in person. The bank has been led by the same local president since 1989, Peter G. Bennis.

Pinnacle Bank has a long history of supporting the community, which makes this project perfect for their involvement. Last year, 54% of Southwestern nursing students were from Johnson County. The program is expanding quickly. With the building of the new home for the nursing program, space will be provided for community wellness activities. These plans are part of the University’s five-year community engagement plan.
