SWAU HOSTS WOODROW WILSON VISITING FELLOW

Southwestern Adventist University has invited Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow Peter Frumkin, an internationally renowned and award-winning producer of documentaries, to be in residence October 23-27. Frumkin will give lectures and workshops and will meet with students and faculty members informally throughout the week to share his practical knowledge in the areas of broadcast and non-broadcast media production. 

“We are happy to welcome Mr. Frumkin to our campus,” says Vice President for Academic Administration Dr. Amy Rosenthal. “Our students and faculty will benefit from his knowledge and experience.”

Frumkin is the President of Peter Frumkin Productions, an independent media production company. With several projects currently in the works, Frumkin has a long list of credits including Tobacco Roads, Nobel Portraits, and Typhoid Mary: The Most Dangerous Woman in America. Frumkin earned his BFA with honors in film and television from New York University. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America, Writers Guild of America, and the Academy of Television Arts and Science.

The Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows program, which is administered by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) in Washington, DC, brings prominent artists, diplomats, journalists, business leaders, and other professionals to campuses across the United States for a week-long residential program of classes, seminars, workshops, lectures, and informal discussions. For more than 45 years, Visiting Fellows have been introducing students and faculty members at liberal arts colleges to a wide range of perspectives on life, society, community, and achievement.
