B.A. English, Secondary Teaching Certification

A B.A. in English with a Secondary Teaching Certification will open the door to helping the next generation understand the importance of English in today’s society.  In this program, students will learn the history of English literature from the Anglo-Saxon age to the 20th century, American literature, advanced grammar and composition theory and practice.

English teaching opportunities in denominational schools have been more available than average for several decades. As a graduate with a B.A. in English, students learn critical thinking and communication skills that open the door to a wide variety of fields and careers in education.
Educational Qualifications
For students planning to teach at the secondary level, they must complete a certification program. Although college professors have no certification requirements, they have completed a master’s degree and are typically working on their doctorate.
