We are proud that our nursing students have a NCLEX pass rate above the national average. This past year, our 2019 graduates had a pass rate of 92 percent.

Do you want to start a career in Nursing? Our B.S. Nursing program is the best first step towards that future in healthcare! Join the Fall or Spring cohort and start developing the skills needed to be a nurse in today’s hospitals.
R.N. to B.S. Nursing Program
Are you an RN looking to grow you expertise to meet today’s industry standards? Our RN to BS Nursing program is designed just for you! You have the opportunity to begin your education during Fall, Spring or Summer with flexible 8-week modules and reduced tuition! A degree package costs just $7,500, which is $250 per credit hour.

Nursing Program Admission
In the past, SWAU has traditionally accepted 1 class each year. We are now pleased to begin accepting 2 classes every year.
Freshman Students
Freshmen who enter SWAU as a nursing major usually begin nursing courses in the second semester of their sophomore year. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing can complete their courses in just 5 semesters!
Transfer Students
To be accepted into the SWAU Nursing Program, you must first Apply Online. For your convenience, you may also apply directly through NursingCas. To complete the registration process, visit the Nursing Admission Requirement page.
Guaranteed Admission
Prospective students are eligible with the following qualifications:
- Admitted to Southwestern Adventist University
- Enrolled as a full-time freshman
- Declared nursing as your intended major
- Successfully completed all nursing pre-requisite courses
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Achieve an overall proficient level or above on the TEAS nursing admission test

Research supports the increase in quality outcomes when nurses have a bachelor's degree (BSN) and many hospitals are hiring with a goal of all BSN nurses.
